Abstract

Auzoult (2008, 2010) continued the studies of Greenberger (Greenberger 1984; Josselson, Knerr, & Knerr 1975) and Deslandes, Potvin and Leclerc (1999; 2000) based on autonomy and psychosocial maturation. He suggested an autonomy-situnony scale for secondary school pupils. The goal of this study is to validate this scale among university students and to determine the links between autonomy and perceptions of dropping out of university. Participants were 326 students from different academic pathways (mean age 21.44 ± 2.89, of which 69% were women). The results show that the autonomy-situnomy scale is suitable for students and they highlight the links between autonomy and the perception of dropping out of university.
