Abstract

The pharmacological treatment of asthma is just one side in the comprehensive treatment of this illness that must also require the education of the child and his family and the control of those factors that contribute to its development. The aim of a comprehensive treatment of asthma is to get the child to lead a completely normal life according to his age including exercising, practising a sport and carrying out normal schooling. In order to dispense the treatment of asthma in pediatrics, we need to know the wide range of drugs to be used both in the rescue during crises in base treatment, as well as the inhaler systems, since what in theory is a good pharmacological treatment with an inhaler syster that was not well trained or unappropriate for the age and capacities of the child, could be totally unsuccessful. Analizing those guides such as GINA (Global Initiative for Asthma) or the international pediatrician's consensus has proved effective to improve the treatment of asthma in children, they pose norms on stage treatment and classification and treatment of crises both in the home of the patient and the health center.
