Abstract

Two Spirit Christological propositions that are intentionally compatible with Chalcedon are defined and defended. These propositions explore the hypostatic union not merely through examining Christ's divine and human natures, but also through examining the Spirit's Christological mission. The first affirms that an orthodox Christology requires both the Son and Spirit's missions to be fully recognized. The second states that both missions must relate without priority, without confusion, and without separation. Defending the propositions not only provides a succinct summary of key Spirit Christological insights, it explicitly identifies and rejects six Spirit-Christological errors existing within ancient and contemporary Christologies.
