Abstract

aim is to define a constructor for abstract data type ``place'' based on Alexander's 15 structural properties of a whole; empirical experiment collecting data on which of these properties may be most important; constructor may need to support properties {scale, strong center, contrast, boundaries, positive space, void} + {affordance}; the latter is not part of Alexander's properites, but rather emerged from `what's missing' and relates to Kuhn's work
