Abstract
Hydrometrocolpos is a condition in which there is obstruction to the outflow of secretions from the female genital tract. This may be diagnosed in the antenatal period. The common age at presentation is the neonatal and pubertal age group. The treatment may be required as an emergency in neonates presenting with sepsis or renal derangements. It may also be associated with syndromes apart from various other anomalies. Early diagnosis and management are key to survival of these patients. This chapter describes the detailed management of these cases including investigations and the various surgical options available.
