Abstract

Many staff development departments may be considering or are currently in the process of marketing their educational expertise and/or continuing educational offerings to individuals and outside agencies. This article identifies those factors that influenced our decision to market and contract actively to provide educational services to long-term care facilities. Both the individual and mutual advantages of contracting for the agency and the hospital are discussed. Examples of a contract schedule and the brief follow-up surveys used to assess the overall satisfaction and perceptions of both the agency administrators and nursing staff regarding the contract services are included. © Lippincott-Raven Publishers.
