Uma questão de poder: consumo sustentável e suficiência ecológica como discursos alternativos em prol da sustentabilidade

Abstract

Based on the concepts of sustainable consumption and ecological sufficiency, this article seeks to distinguish between the different discourses associated with the topic, such as ecological modernization, Amartya Sen’s approach, the South American buen vivir movement, environmental justice, deep ecology, and ecosocialism, as well as to reveal the influence of power relations over the transition into fair and sustainable forms of social organization.Com base nos conceitos de consumo sustentável e suficiência ecológica, busca-se neste artigo contrapor os diferentes discursos relacionados ao tema, como a modernização ecológica, a abordagem de Amartya Sen, o movimento sul-americano do buen vivir e a defesa da justiça ambiental, assim como revelar a influência das relações de poder sobre o processo de transição para formas justas e sustentáveis de organização social.
