Abstract
The present paper deals with the cytological studies made on 30 populations of 26 species of the Gamopetalae from selected localities of Western Himalaya. The chromosome counts in Strobilanthes alatus (2n=16), Artemisia vestita (2n=36) and Ainsliaea latifolia (2n=16) were first ever cytological reports for the species. While, Bidens pilosa (2n=96) and Coreopsis lanceolata (2n=26) are new reports from India.
