Abstract

Laboratory rats were fed for 2 h during the day or night. These single-meal-fed rats initially lost weight but subsequently gained weight at the same rate as ad-lib-fed control animals. Time of meal had no effect on body weight. Single-meal feeding does not lead to obesity in rats. © 1976, Psychonomic Society, Inc.. All rights reserved.
