LoRaWAN as one of the most representative technologies of LPWAN(Low Power Wide Area Networks), has the characteristics of low power consumption, long distance, license-free frequency bands, and has gradually become the focus to promote the development of smart IoT(Internet of Things) devices in cities. In this paper, an urban indoor channel model is proposed to simulate the transmission loss of LoRa(Long Range) packets in an indoor environment. An adaptive rate algorithm is also proposed. The experimental results show that the proposed RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) adaptive rate algorithm based on the receiver can effectively improve the success rate of LoRa packets. In addition, the network scale supported by a single gateway in an indoor environment is discussed, and the results can provide a theoretical basis for the deployment of future urban IoT applications.
