Abstract
Measurements were undertaken at 1600 degree C under air and carbon dioxide atmospheres at CaO/SiO//2-ratios of 0. 66, 1. 00 and 1. 50. Additional measurements were carried out at 1500 and 1700 degree C under air. At low iron oxide contents the viscosity depends on basicity. Increasing iron oxide content decreases viscosity. At Fe//2O//3/(FeO plus CaO) equals 0. 5, viscosity changes due to a change in atomic structure of the slag.
