SISTIM PENANGANAN PASCAPANEN DAN EFISIENSI PEMASARAN USAHATANI KENTANG (Solanum tuberosum L) DI KELURAHAN PATTAPANG, KECAMATAN TINGGIMONCONG, KABUPATEN GOWA

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to: (1). Analyzing the feasibility level of potato farming (Solanum tuberosum L). (2). Describe how to handle postharvest potato production during the postharvest handling process. (3.) Analyzing the magnitude of the loss of potato production (4). Analyzing the level of marketing efficiency of potato production. The study was conducted from December 2019-February 2020, with the location of Pattapang Village, Tinggimoncong District, Gowa Regency. The sampling method used in this study is a qualitative method and a quantitative method. Land productivity in the Pattapang Village is 76,974 kg / year with an average potato production of 1,927.15 kg / year and the total cost incurred is Rp 6,942,816 / year. So that the income of potato farmers respondents Rp. 16,182,983.86 / year. R / C-ratio or the feasibility of potato farming is 3.33, RC value exceeds 1 rupiah (R / C-ratio> Rp.1), the resulting farming has an advantage. The results showed that potato farming was worth the effort, where each expenditure of Rp 1.00 resulted in an income of Rp 3.33. Postharvest handling is carried out with 5 handling systems, namely tuber cleaning, sorting, grading, storage and packaging of potato production. The average amount of potato production loss is 272.11 kg / year or 0.03% of the total crop production that has suffered damage to tubers such as potato tuber decay due to pests and diseases and in post-harvest processing. The level of marketing efficiency is 69.46%, where the value of efficiency > 50% then the marketing channel is said to be inefficient.
