Abstract
All people have ever suffered an episode of acute pain throughout his life, but only a minority ends up suffering chronic pain. Currently there is a unanimous recognition that the transition from acute pain to chronic pain is explained by the interaction between the pathophysiological conditions of disorder and a set of psychosocial factors. Since 2000, much of the research in this field has been carried around the Fear-Avoidance Model of Pain, whose evolution and future horizons are analyzed in this article
