Abstract

This study aims to identify the level and factors that influence the acceptance of e-learning among semester 4 students for the Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering Diploma at Port Dickson Polytechnic regarding teaching and learning during the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) Covid-19. The questionnaire contained instruments of perceptions of usefulness, perceptions of ease of use, lecturer characteristics, information quality, system quality and technical support. Quantitative data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 32 respondents and a pilot study conducted found that Cronbach's Alpha value has a high level of reliability which is 0.746. The data obtained was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20.0 software to obtain percentage values, frequency, mean score and standard deviation. The results of the study show that the usability perception factor (min= 3.15), the ease of use perception factor (min= 3.53), the lecturer characteristics factor (min= 3.80), the system quality factor (min= 3.42), the information factor (min= 3.44) and the technical support factor (mean= 3.46). From the correlation analysis between the factors shows that there is a positive relationship between all the factors. It was found that student acceptance is dependent on the usefulness and ease of use of a system, lecturer factors and technical support as well as system and information quality factors. Overall, respondents positively accept the use of e-learning in helping the learning and teaching process. In order to add value to the effectiveness of e-learning, some improvements and further studies are also suggested.
