Abstract

Between 1987 and 1993 two consecutive three-year Export Development Programmes for India (EDPI) were implemented under the UK's Overseas Development Administration technical collaboration funds. This study assesses the impact of this initiative both overall and from the point of view of the automotive industry in particular, with specific reference to one firm. Whilst bearing in mind the limitations of the analysis, the programme appears to have had a positive impact on the assisted firms. © 1994 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
