Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, recognition of oral pathognomonic lesions in COVID-19 patients is urgently needed. Considering its high morbidity, minimising contact as much as possible is of the utmost importance. Therefore, this study needs the dentistry 4.0 technologies. This includes digital medical records using the Hospital Management Information System (HIMS) application on hospitalized patients through televisite. This study was to describe oral lesions of moderate on hospitalized COVID-19 patients at Dr. Ramelan Naval Central Hospital (RSPAL) Surabaya from August 2020 to July 2021. A descriptive study was conducted between August 2020 and July 2021 on COVID-19 patients hospitalized at RSPAL Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Patients were examined by oral medicine specialists using a televisite or in person and were treated for oral health care. All information was recorded electronically in an integrated HIMS. To analyse the data, it was necessary to use a data processing system, namely MS. Excel, which was presented as a table. The results showed that there were three common types of oral lesions, in the form of oral candidiasis at 29.5%, followed by stomatitis and related lesions at 16%, then Cheilitis at 11.3%. There are no typical (pathognomonic) lesions for hospitalized patients with COVID-19 at RSPAL Surabaya.
