Abstract

Bibliography- based review includes historical development, production data, synthetic methods, isolation and purification, physical and chemical properties, toxicology, analytical methods, storage and handling, chemical reactions, and polymerization of isoprene monomer. Commercial processes as well as laboratory syntheses are comprehensively dealt with. Properties are tabulated and plotted in curves. Substitution, addition and ring- forming reactions as well as polymerization techniques are included. Random, graft and block copolymers are also mentioned.
