PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN WORD SQUARE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MUATAN IPS SISWA KELAS V UPT SD NEGERI 8 BARANTI KABUPATEN SIDRAP

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan belajar dan prestasi belajar siswa pada muatan IPS melalui penerapan model pembelajaran word square. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitiannya adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif. Proses pembelajaran pada siklus I menunjukkan aktivitas guru berada pada kategori baik (B), aktivitas siswa berada pada kategori cukup (C), dan hasil belajar siswa berada pada kategori cukup (C). Proses pembelajaran siklus II menunjukkan proses aktivitas guru dan siswa baik (B), dan hasil belajar siswa juga baik (B). Proses pembelajaran siklus III menunjukkan proses aktivitas guru, proses aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar juga baik (B). Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran word square dapat meningkatkan proses dan hasil belajar siswa pada muatan IPS yang berkaitan dengan peristiwa kebangsaan pada masa penjajahan di Kelas V UPT SD Negeri 8 Baranti Kabupaten Sidrap.The purpose of this research is to determine whether there is an improvement in process and whether students learn more about social studies content when they use the word square learning model. Using classroom action research as its methodology, this study adopted a qualitative approach. Information was gathered through the use of observational methods, tests, and documentation. The data was analyzed using qualitative approaches. Students' activities and learning outcomes were categorized as sufficient (C) according to the first cycle's results, while the teacher's and students' actions were categorized as good (B). Among the learning outcomes (B) for cycle II, teacher and student engagement ranks highest. Based on the results of cycle III, which demonstrate teacher and student engagement as well as a good grade (B), we can conclude that the word square learning model can enhance the process and student learning outcomes in IPS content related to national events during the colonial period in class V at UPT SD Negeri 8 Baranti Sidrap Regency.
