Abstract
Parametasphondylia piperis (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae, Asphondyliini, Schizomyiina), a new gall maker genus and species associated with Piper sp. (Piperaceae) is described and illustrated (larva, pupa, male and female) based on material obtained from Minas Gerais, Brazil.
