New rolling stands for long product rolling mills

Abstract

PERT has developed and patented a new generation of rolling mill stands for long products, called BiSupport (BS) stands. Being a further development of the traditional housingless and cantilever stands, the new BS-type stand is a valid alternative to conventional equipment. The goal of the new stand design is a dramatic increase in rolling load, faster production program changes, fast installation, lower civil works, lower building dimensions, significant productivity improvement, lower operating costs, and lower inventory and thus cost of spares.
