Abstract

Chapter 17 describes the importance of effectively engaging nurses from an NHS Wales perspective, to support the Welsh Governments strategic approach to utilizing Information Communication Technology for care planning and delivery. An outline of the Welsh NHS and the history of Welsh nursing informatics between 2007 and 2013 is provided. The eight principles that underpin the approach to nursing informatics in Wales are discussed.
