Abstract
Psychosocial support services are holistic activities carried out for boosting the psychosocial capacity of individuals, families, groups and communities which are dealt with in a multidisciplinary approach. It is unanimously accepted by all parties taking part in this field that psychosocial support is, today, an integral part of relief and response activities exercised after disasters. This study deals with psychosocial support activities performed after the terror attacks on HSBC Bank and British Embassy in Istanbul on November 15-20; attack on "Anafartalar Çarşısı" (a shopping mall in Ankara) on May 22, 2007 and the one that took place in Güngören District in Istanbul on July 27, 2008. The study gives information about what psychosocial services were offered after the said terrorist attacks, what parameters were used, what is the difference between terror attacks and other type of disasters and concludes with suggestions aiming at creating a standardized program
