Abstract

Among the relations between bees and plants pollen collection is the most Important feature and is studied from a quantitative and also qualitative point of view. The choices made by bees among a flora depends on sensorial stimuli, trophic factors and also genetic factors. Study of pollen collection behaviour is connected with pollination. The honey bee is suitable as biological indicator through the pollen she gathers. Pollen analysis of honey is a suitable method for fundamental research but is also used for quality and origin controls in food industry. Efforts have to be made to adapt its technical processes to its various purposes. © 1990 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
