Abstract

We report a seizure-related death in a patient with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy 3 months following a previous generalised tonic-clonic seizure complicated by pulmonary oedema. Seizure-related pulmonary oedema is rare but may indicate an increased susceptibility to epilepsy related death. We consider possible preventative measures for patients presenting with seizure-related pulmonary oedema. © 2002 BEA Trading Ltd. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
