Abstract

The alkaloid profile of the aerial parts of Schizanthus tricolor Grau et Gronbach was investigated by GC-MS. Seventeen alkaloids were detected and are reported in this species for the first time. They were identified by means of retention indices, together with the fragmentation pattern of reference material. 3a-Methylitaconyloxytropane (12) is identified as a new alkaloid.
