Abstract

The analysis of a cylindrical post mounting structure in a rectangular waveguide is outlined. Theoretical results, which may be obtained directly from the theoretical expressions without the use of empirical factors, are shown to be in agreement with experimental measurements. The theoretical results may also be used to deduce an equivalent circuit for the mount, and such an equivalent circuit is presented for a case of frequent interest, namely that where the TE//1//0 mode is the only propagating waveguide mode.
