Abstract

This study deals with, energy, exergy, specific energy consumption (SEC) and exergoeconomic assessment of a burner (dry-type) in a currently running cement facility in Şanlıurfa, Turkey. The exergoeconomic analysis of the unit is evaluated. The first and second law analysis including exergy destructions and exergetic cost allotments are analyzed for the unit. The first and second law efficiencies and SEC of the kiln are calculated to be 54%, 29% and 3793 kJ/kg clinker respectively. The specific cost method (SPECO) has been used for the exergoeconomic analysis. The exergetic cost and cost rate and of the clinker product of the rotary kiln are found to be 77.3 $/GJ and 2608 $/h, respectively.
