Abstract

With the development of proteome research, quantitative proteomics is becoming a very active area of proteomics research. The development of quantitative proteomics requires the advancement of a number of mass spectrometry (MS) -based quantitative techniques. According to the mass spectrometric stage at which the peptides are quantified, MS-based quantitative methods can be divided into two categories: MS1-based quantitation and MSm-based quantitation. In this review, the progress of MSm-based quantitation approaches is summarized and the advantages and disadvantages are compared. The trend of MSm-based quantitation is also prospected.
