Abstract

Introduction: Child marriages have an impact not only on health but also on the sustainability of the household formed through child marriage. This can happen because most child marriages are based on something other than proper preparation, and it often happens unnoticed by couples who marry early. Many teenagers do not know the impact of child marriage. This is partly due to the limited media that inform it. Adolescents prefer to seek information through more interactive media, such as the Internet or social media, using digital media, videos, and more fun interactions. Teens are often lacking and have had the patience to read a book from cover to finish. They tend to prefer skimming or just looking for the information needed. Therefore, this study was. The review aims to evaluate digital media usage in adolescents regarding reproductive health and child marriage. Materials and methods: This study used the pre-experimental research method with the one-group pretest-posttest design approach to analyze the effectiveness of digital posters in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents about child marriage. The population of all students of SMP at Kedungadem, Bojonegoro Regency, in 2023 is 950 people, a sample of 90 respondents using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire, and then data processing was carried out through editing, coding, scoring, tabulating, and data analysis with the Wilcoxon test. Results: The study’s results were obtained before being given a digital poster; there was an increase of 53 (58.6%) who had less knowledge, and 50 (56.0%) were unfavorable. After being given a digital poster, 86 (96.0%) had a good understanding, and 58 (64.0%) were favorable; and Wilcoxon test results P value = 0.000, digital poster media effectively increases adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes about child marriage. Conclusion: Providing digital poster media to adolescents has succeeded in increasing youth’s knowledge and understanding of child marriage, raising awareness, and promoting among peers the importance of postponing Marriage until it reaches the proper age.
