Abstract

Digital libraries (DLs) need to incorporate information intermediation in their operations since facilitation of users through value-added processes is essential to a successful digital library. DLs serve both human and computer-based beneficiaries and operate within a computerized network, handle documents in digital format and manages electronic resources. Intermediation provides a metaphor to configure and bring about a group of people or services that can help DLs deal with interface and interoperability problems.
