PRESSURE MEASUREMENT.

Abstract

This article examines the principal mechanical and electromechanical methods and devices used to sense and measure pressure and vacuum throughout the entire pressure spectrum, positioning each in the particular area of the spectrum to which it is best suited. Also considered are the transmitters and transducers used to convey the pressure measurement from the sensing point to the display, or control, point in a process-control system. Also discussed is the measurement of differential pressure, which has wide application in the chemical process industries.
