Abstract

Crytallographic features and formation processes of the pearlite blocks were experimentally investigated. The pearlite block was confirmed to be an area in which the orientation of ferrite is constant including many pearlite colonies. The refinement of pearlite blocks was attained by both the refinement of austenite grains and lowering of the transformation temperatures. When the transformation temperature is high, pearlite blocks can be larger than austenite grains.
