Abstract
Abstract: Genre knowledge in higher education is an important field for discourse studies. Research has focused on genres produced by experts and used by different members of an academic community. Texts written by university students, on the other hand, have received less attention, because they were until recently considered as imperfect or artificial versions. This research is part of the study of academic training genres in Spanish and is inserted in the analysis of the situated genre. Thus, it focuses on the relationship between gender, curriculum, and discipline. The methodological platform of this proposal is based on the notion of textography. The problem is moving towards an empirically supported understanding of the specificity of writing practices in undergraduate training in the area of computer science civil engineering (ICI in Spanish). The aim of this research is to understand the formative role that discursive genres play in these study programs. The methodological design uses an exhaustive documentary and curricular analysis. The research helps to build a departmental profile of academic writing and to propose teaching strategies for disciplinary literacy.
