Abstract

Four new 7, 20-epoxy-ent-kauranoids, rubluanins A-D (1-4) and eleven known ones, were isolated from Isodon rubescens var. lushanensis, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 2-14 were evaluated for their cytotoxicity in several human tumor cell lines (U937, Jurkat, HL-60, K562, SGC790, and HepG2). Among the compounds, lasiokaurin (13) showed significant cytotoxic activity of 0.62 μM (IC50) in U937 cells. © 2010 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
