Abstract

Este texto aborda a presença do desenho na educação e divulgação em biologia na obra dos naturalistas nos séculos XVIII e XIX. Estas considerações pretendem estimular uma discussão sobre a possibilidade de as imagens fornecerem uma compreensão singular do mundo natural.The present material shows the presence of the illustration in education and popularization of biology on the work of naturalists in the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries. These thoughts are intended to stimulate discussion on the possibility of images supplying a unique comprehension of natural world.
