Abstract
The evaluation of the university teacher is an issue in which there is increasing attention, given its relationship with the learning outcomes of students and the quality of programs and universities. There is no single model for teacher evaluation, as this will depend on the perspective from which this exercise will be carried out. This article presents a review of the literature on teacher evaluation in aspects such as the purpose of teacher evaluation, the actors involved, the types of evaluation and some models of countries and universities.
