Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to present how, through sensitive listening to the languages of babies and a careful look at them, a teacher was constituted as a teacher of very young children in a public daycare center in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil; and how the relationships she made established, in relation to the injustices of the public power with regard to overcrowding in the daycare center, a singular appropriation of the physical school space based on Freinet pedagogy, making her teaching trajectory unique and peculiar, in that determined situation.
