SEJARAH INDUSTRI GULA AREN DI DESA PULAU MENTARO KECAMATAN KUMPEH KABUPATEN MUARO JAMBI TAHUN 1980 – 2010

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengambarkan sejarah Industri Gula Aren di Desa Pulau Mentaro Kecamatan Kumpeh Kabupaten Muaro Jambi 1980 - 2010. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif sejarah meliputi tahapan heuristik, kritik sumber, interprestasi dan historiografi. Sumber sejarah yang digunakan berupa dokumen ataupun laporan resmi, buku-buku, artikel makalah, lewat studi perpustakaan, serta ditambah dengan hasil wawancara. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan sosial ekonomi, mengacu pada pembahasan prilaku yang berorientasi pada employment dan alokasi sumber daya yang langka, dan pendekatan sosiologi untuk melihat hubungan atau relasi yang terbentuk diantara pihak yang terlibat, yaitu antara sesama pembuat gula aren, perajin dengan intitusi pelingkup, serta pembuat gula aren dengan konsumen, pedagang besar, maupun pedagang kecil sebagai unsur pendukung dari industri gula aren di Desa Pulau Mentaro. Sedangkan pendekatan antropologi menjelaskan tentang manilisa, baik dari segi budaya maupun keanekaragaman dalam kehidupan masyarakat di Desa Pula Mentaro. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa industri gula aren cendrung mengalami peningkatan, hal ini disebabkan kondisi harga dan pendapatan yang selalu meningkat 1980-2010. inisiatif,  pemerintah harus lebih memperhatikan perkembangan industri gula aren di Desa Pulau Mentaro Kecamatan Kumpeh Kabupaten Muaro Jambi.Kata Kunci :Industri Kecil, Industri Gula Aren  AbstractThis study aims to describe the history of the Palm Sugar Industry in Pulau Mentaro Village, Kumpeh District, Muaro Jambi Regency 1980 - 2010. The research method used is a historical qualitative method including heuristic stages, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. Historical sources used in the form of documents or official reports, books, paper articles, through library studies, and added with the results of interviews. The approach used is a socio-economic approach, referring to the discussion of employment-oriented behavior and the allocation of scarce resources, and a sociological approach to see the relationships or relationships that are formed between the parties involved, namely between palm sugar makers, craftsmen and institutional scoping, as well as palm sugar makers with consumers, wholesalers, and small traders as supporting elements of the palm sugar industry in Mentaro Island Village. Meanwhile, the anthropological approach describes manilisa, both in terms of culture and diversity in people's lives in Pula Mentaro Village. The results show that the palm sugar industry tends to increase, this is due to the condition of prices and incomes that always increase from 1980 to 2010. As an initiative, the government should pay more attention to the development of the palm sugar industry in Pulau Mentaro Village, Kumpeh District, Muaro Jambi Regency.Keywords:Small Industry, Palm Sugar Industry
