Abstract

Some of the more intriguing results selected from recent work by the Leeds borane group will be presented. The first section considers novel chemical reactions induced by the interaction of various ligands with preformed metallaboranes. This leads naturally to the second section which describes some further examplesof unexpected and in some instances unprecedented cluster geometries and their significance. The account concludes with a brief survey of the new and rapidly developing area of aza- and oxa-metal1aboranes and related species. © 1991, IUPAC
