Abstract

This research is based on the unavailability of children's story books that introduce the typical meatball of Tasikmalaya. as a result, student do not have knowledge about food typical meatball of Tasikmalaya that exist in the surrounding environment. in the curriculum (revised) there are material about aspect of culture, which one is food, in this material student must know to make and serving it, but in fact the result of the data obtained during the preliminary study show that there are still many student who do not know the composition of meatball food, this is because the absence of children's story books that contain about meatball food typical tasikmalaya for children. Therefore, the researcher did the development of children's story book product about meatball food Tasikmalaya. Design by the initial product, test the eligibility and produce the final product of children's story books. The story book developed contains knowledge about the tools used, basic ingredients, how to make, and the way of serving the typical meatballs Tasikmalaya. This study uses a method Educational Design Research model Reeves. Identify and analyse problems, development of prototype solutions informed by state of art theory, iterative cycles of testing and refinement product and reflection to produce design principle. This research was conducted in elementary school grade IV SDN 1 Nagarasari in Tasikmalaya. Story book that has been created already tested its feasibility and validated by Expert Judgment and get a positive response from teacher and student elementary school. This research produce the final product is a children's story book entitled "Bakso Asik dan Kotak Ajaib".
