Abstract
The impact of the COVID-19 sanitary emergency was reflected in various sectors of national and international economic activity. On the one hand, the consumption of goods and services necessary to carry out daily activities and, secondly, the closure of economic activities. In this sense, the objective of the study was to diagnose the business behavior in terms of the impact on income by company size, closures, births and sectors affected by covid-19, employed personnel, remunerations, reduction of personnel, surviving and closed sectors of Mexican MSMEs. For this purpose, a documentary methodology was developed through the analysis of information obtained from primary, documentary and secondary sources of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) as the agency responsible for recording the performance of the country’s institutions. The result showed an increase in the number of closures of MSMEs during the period, as well as the reduction of personnel; however, post-pandemic there was a progressive business growth and an increase in the informal economy. In conclusion, it can be said that there was a contraction of the boom and strengthening of MSMEs during the period in question. It should also be noted that MSMEs face post-pandemic challenges related to informality, economic uncertainty due to constant changes and the consolidation of policies based on targeted support.
