Abstract

The authors recently observed two children who developed seizures after the administration of methohexital. Despite the widespread use of methohexital in children, this complication has not previously been reported. Furthermore, since barbiturates are the most commonly used drugs for seizure control during childhood, this response was totally unexpected. These two cases are presented, and the role of methohexital in induction of seizures is discussed.
