Professor struthers and the tay whale

Abstract

Sir John Struthers was Professor of Anatomy in Aberdeen from 1863-1889. Some of his contributions, both locally and nationally are outlined, with a brief account of his early career. His interest in the anatomy of whales is noted and the saga of the Toy Whale and his involvement described in detail.
