Abstract

Humans are the primary agents of environmental change on Earth through the exploitation of natural resources, pollution, deforestation, and climate change, leading to a global environmental crisis. This research aims to understand the role of humans as servants of God who preserve and protect nature. This concept emphasizes the moral responsibility of humans in caring for God's creation, including the environment. The research method employed is literature research utilizing articles, journals, and related scholarly works. The results indicate that the function of humans as servants of God preserving the universe includes crucial responsibilities in maintaining ecosystem sustainability, including sustainable practices in agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and other industries. This requires the use of environmentally friendly technology and sustainable practices as well as environmental education, awareness campaigns, and promotion of sustainable lifestyles. Essentially, humans need to fulfill their role as stewards of the universe with full responsibility to maintain ecological balance and sustainable living.
