Abstract
This paper is based on a work carried out as a request for the course of Support Technologies for users' diversity, of Evolutionary Psychology Doctoral Program of University Autonomous of Madrid, during the second semester 2009. The paper makes a summary of documents about the history of technologies to support people with disabilities and its specific uses of TIC to attend people with intellectual disabilities. Furthermore, it presents a description of alternative public domain software and web sites available on line considered suitable for teaching because of its visual environment quality, quantity of multimedia devices, the level for users accessibility and the motivation and attractiveness to maintaining curiosity, attention and interest for the education of this student population.
