Sex, sexuality, and fertility for women with spinal cord injury

Abstract

Women who have sustained spinal cord injury (SCI) often experience changes in regard to sex, sexuality, and fertility. Information is now available regarding the neurophysiology of female sexual function as well as the neuropathology affecting sexually active women with SCI. This article reviews the contemporary literature in terms of sexual function, sexual interest, fertility, and pregnancy for women with SCI.
