This paper provides a closed loop Field Oriented Control technique incorporating Fuzzy Logic Controller for torque ripple minimization and speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motor drive. The execution of the proposed FLC technique is compared with that of the conventional Proportional Integral controller. The ability of the proposed controller is analyzed in simulation for various operating conditions. The results show that FLC based PMACSM drive provides improved speed and torque response compared to conventional PI controller. The proposed technique is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink.
