Abstract
Objective: The behavior of scientific collaboration in the area of Information Sciences was analyzed from the Cuban scientific production indexed in the SciELO Citation Index database in the period 2014-2018. Methodology: Quantitative research of a descriptive character, no experimental and cross-sectional design. Bibliometric indicators based on collaboration were applied. The Classic Documentary Analysis, the Methods of the metric studies of the information and the visualization techniques based on the Analysis of Social Networks were used. Results: Most of the authors led the scientific collaboration by conducting the investigations between three. The main institutional relationships occurred between universities where the leading authors in the publications are affiliated. The Latin American region stood out for showing most of the relationships between the countries that make it up. Conclusions: Scientific collaboration allows research in the informational area to be carried out among researchers from dissimilar regions, even, within the same locality with the purpose of contributing to the development of the area itself.
