Abstract
Successful reconstruction of the eyelid, lateral canthus, and the periocular areas after skin cancer can be complicated. Understanding the exact anatomic tissue deficits is essential. Correct fabrication of certain anatomic subunits is required. Achieving satisfactory eyelid and periocular function and aesthetic appearance is very important. This requires precise combinations of these concepts (anatomic, biologic, and physiologic) with appropriate reconstructive plastic surgical techniques. © 2009, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
