Abstract

Mastery of Indonesian vocabulary properly and correctly is not an easy thing. This problem is often raised by Indonesian language learners for foreign speakers (BIPA) at Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Some foreign students who do not have good Indonesian vocabulary, of course, have difficulty communicating. The purpose of writing this article is to convey the use of the SPAI application carried out by foreign students to get foreign word definitions and find the right word equivalents in Indonesian. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using a direct action research approach using the Zoom application. Sources of data in this study came from BIPA students at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Then, the data that has been obtained is analyzed and conveyed using text to explain the results of the research findings. Based on the research conducted by the researcher, it was concluded that the SPAI application was very effective in using BIPA students in finding the equivalent of a word in Indonesian. In addition, the equivalent words that appear are in accordance with words commonly used in good and correct language.
